Bomb threat note found on Ankara-Shanliurfa flight

A bomb threat note was found on an AJet passenger plane flying from Ankara to Shanliurfa, prompting the evacuation of 136 passengers and seven crew members, Turkish authorities said.

Axar.az reports, citing Hurriyet, that the Flight 4180 aircraft departed Ankara at 7 p.m. and landed at Shanliurfa GAP Airport at 8:05 p.m. after the note was discovered in the plane’s lavatory.

Police teams were deployed to the airport and began searching the aircraft. Shanliurfa Governor Hasan Shildak said the plane landed safely as a precaution and that bomb disposal teams were conducting a search.
