Czechia withdraws from 2027 Eurovision

Czechia will not participate in the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest due to budget restrictions, Czech Television (CT) said.

Axar.az reports, citing Czech media, that the broadcaster said its reduced 2027 budget and uncertainty over future funding had forced it to cancel several programs, including its Eurovision participation.

“We will not see the Czech flag on the Eurovision stage in 2027,” CT said, adding that it would also not broadcast the competition on its regular programming.

The broadcaster stressed that the decision applies only to 2027 and did not rule out returning to the contest in subsequent years.

The 2027 Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Bulgaria. Czechia first participated in Eurovision in 2007 and has finished in the top 10 twice.
