Iranian, Russian presidents hold phone call

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone call on Wednesday to discuss bilateral relations and continued strategic cooperation between Tehran and Moscow.

Axar.az reports, citing Iran's President's press service, that during the call, Pezeshkian highlighted the positive and expanding trajectory of relations between the two countries and stressed the need to maintain and strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields.

Putin said cooperation between Russia and Iran under the comprehensive strategic partnership treaty was continuing despite developments and ongoing events in the region.

Putin also said Russia supported diplomatic efforts by some countries to mediate and help reduce tensions, adding that Moscow was ready to assist in those efforts.

The two presidents also stressed the importance of maintaining close communication and cooperation between Tehran and Moscow.
