There are some countries trying to drive a wedge between Turkiye and Azerbaijan, Turkiye's ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) spokesperson Omer Celik said.
Axar.az reports, citing Haber Global, that Celik addressed attacks targeting the brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Turkiye in a statement following the MYK meeting.
"Now, of course, we say “one nation, two states.” We genuinely adhere to this motto with Azerbaijan. But ultimately, everyone may have different domestic political agendas. There may be differences in political assessments concerning domestic and foreign policy. When we have disagreements on these issues, we discuss them as two brotherly countries, share everything openly and continue on our way.
There is a genuine brotherly relationship between our President and Mr. Aliyev," he said.
Celik added that some countries were trying to drive a wedge between Turkiye and Azerbaijan.
"We will not allow those countries to achieve their objectives. In addition, we see that some groups and social media users inside Turkiye are mistakenly targeting Azerbaijan," he said.
"There are some countries trying to drive a wedge between Turkiye and Azerbaijan. We will absolutely not allow these countries to do so. That is the first point.
Secondly, we see that some groups, certain social media networks and some circles in Turkiye are targeting Azerbaijan. We see that they are targeting Azerbaijan in an inappropriate and unfounded manner," he added.
