Two detained over deadly Istanbul building collapse

The architect of a seven-story building that collapsed in Istanbul’s Maltepe district, as well as the construction site manager, have been detained.

Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, that the two were taken into custody following the collapse.

The first three floors of the building collapsed, killing two people. Rescue teams are continuing to search the rubble for three people who are still believed to be trapped underneath.
