Turkiye warns of disinformation targeting ties with Azerbaijan

Turkiye's Centre for Combating Disinformation (DMM), operating under the Directorate of Communications of the Turkish Presidency, has warned of a deliberate campaign targeting relations between Turkiye and Azerbaijan.

Axar.az reports that the centre stated in a post on X that certain international media outlets and social media accounts had published malicious content aimed at undermining the two countries’ strong ties, strategic alliance and “One Nation, Two States” principle.

"Biased and deliberate content targeting the unbreakable ties between Turkiye and Azerbaijan, their strategic alliance and the “One Nation, Two States” principle has been identified in some international media outlets and social media accounts.

These posts are a clear perception management operation aimed at damaging the deep-rooted relations between the two friendly and brotherly countries and undermining regional peace and stability.

Turkiye and Azerbaijan remain committed to advancing their relations in all areas, built on a shared history, culture and unbreakable brotherhood. Attempts to mislead the public through manipulative narratives about the strategic partnership between the two countries, their joint initiatives and cooperation will not achieve their goals.

The public is strongly urged not to give credence to content intended as a form of psychological warfare and to rely solely on statements issued by official authorities," the statement reads.
