Russia says two drones intercepted en route to Moscow

Russian air defence systems have destroyed two drones flying towards Moscow, the city’s mayor, Sergey Sobyanin, has said.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that Sobyanin said that emergency services were working at the sites where debris fell. The possible consequences of the incident were still being assessed.

Russia’s Defence Ministry said its air defences had intercepted and destroyed 479 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over 18 Russian regions and the Black Sea during the previous night.
