Rezaei: US response to Iran's proposals inadequate

Iran has described the United States’ response to its conditions for ending the conflict as inadequate, saying Washington must clarify outstanding issues before further steps can be taken.

Axar.az reports, citing Press TV, that the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezaei, said Iran had presented Washington with seven conditions following contacts through Pakistan, Qatar and Iraq. According to Rezaei, the US response accepted some of the conditions but left others unclear.

“We are not in the process of responding to the Americans. They have responded to us, and we consider their response inadequate,” Rezaei said.

Rezaei said Tehran would not proceed until Washington clarified the unresolved issues.

He also stressed that Iran would continue to pursue diplomacy but would not return to its previous negotiating approach, accusing the United States of abandoning earlier talks before launching attacks on Iran.
