Trump says Erdogan could help address Houthi attacks

US President Donald Trump has said he may ask Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to help address escalating Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, expressing confidence that the Turkish leader would agree.

Axar.az reports, citing Daily Sabah, that Trump made the remarks to reporters on Tuesday before departing for a campaign trip to Alaska.

“President Erdogan, I think, would do as I ask,” Trump said.

Following an attack at the Riyadh airport in Saudi Arabia on Saturday that killed 13 people, President Trump said he was considering joining Saudi strikes against the group.

"The Houthis are misbehaving very badly. They're misbehaving very badly. No good," Trump said.
