Iraq bars attacks on Saudi Arabia from its territory

Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi reaffirmed Baghdad’s commitment to preventing Iraqi territory from being used to launch attacks against Saudi Arabia or other countries in the region, while condemning recent strikes on the Kingdom.

Axar.az reports, citing the Saudi Gazette, that Al-Zaidi made the remarks during a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman at Al-Yamamah Palace on Wednesday.

The Iraqi prime minister condemned the attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and other strikes targeting civilian facilities and critical infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, describing them as threats to regional security and stability.

He stressed that Iraq would not allow its territory to be used as a launch point for aggression or activities that could threaten the security of Saudi Arabia and neighboring countries.

The two leaders also discussed regional developments, bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation, particularly in security coordination.
