Denmark extends border controls with Germany

Denmark has extended temporary border controls at its land and sea borders with Germany from July 12 to November 11, 2026, citing security threats, including possible Russian sabotage, terrorism, and organised crime.

Axar.az reports, citing the European Commission’s Migration and Home Affairs website, that Danish authorities also pointed to terrorism-related incidents linked to the US-Israeli conflict with Iran and the risk of radicalisation by groups such as Islamic State and Al-Qaida.

The stated security concerns also include potential attacks targeting Jewish and Israeli interests.
