Turkiye’s Ministry of National Defense has said that any potential deployment of troops to Saudi Arabia under the Mecca Defense Alliance would require authorization from the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) in accordance with the Constitution and relevant legislation.

Axar.az reports, citing the ministry, the scope of Turkiye’s contribution would be determined based on Saudi Arabia’s requests and operational needs on the ground.

The ministry stressed that parliamentary approval is required for the deployment of Turkish Armed Forces personnel abroad.

“The agreement must be approved by the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye (TBMM), and the necessary authorization procedures for deploying the Turkish Armed Forces abroad must be completed," the ministry said.
