A Turkish-Armenian business forum will be held in Armenia, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan announced.
Axar.az reports, citing Armenian media, that responding to a question about the reasons for optimism over opening the border with Turkiye and the identity of the new negotiator, Mirzoyan said negotiations continue around the world.
“Usually, no information is disclosed until negotiations are concluded and results are achieved. Talks with Turkiye are no exception, but we engage in dialogue almost every day,” he said.
Speaking about recent progress, Mirzoyan noted that Turkiye had lifted its ban on direct trade with Armenia. He also referred to joint plans to restore the Ani Bridge and reconstruct the Gyumri–Kars railway.
In this context, the Armenian minister recommended visiting Akhurik to see the scale of the work firsthand.
“The border was partially opened for the delegation of businesspeople attending the business forum held in Turkiye. The forum was so successful that there was a need to continue it. Therefore, the next forum will be held in Armenia,” he said.
Mirzoyan said yesterday that one day people might wake up and read the news that the border with Turkiye had been opened.
