Hasan to face firing squad in non-televised execution

US President Donald Trump has said the scheduled execution of former US Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan will not be broadcast online, although the victims’ immediate family members may attend in person.

Axar.az reports that, in a post on his Truth Social account, Trump said he had considered streaming the execution as a potential deterrent but decided against it, citing the wishes of people who did not want to see the execution broadcast or otherwise displayed.

Hasan was convicted of killing 13 people, including a pregnant soldier, and injuring 32 others in the 2009 Fort Hood shooting in Texas.

Hasan is scheduled to be executed by firing squad, Trump said, adding that the victims’ immediate families would be allowed to witness the execution if they wished.

"He will die, as scheduled, by firing squad, but this event will not be streamed. That said, the execution may be viewed in person by the immediate families of the victims, if they so choose. They deserve to witness JUSTICE!" Trump stated.
