Russian oil companies ready to supply diesel fuel to US

The first shipments of Russian diesel fuel to the United States could take place in at least two to three weeks, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said.

Axar.az reports, citing TASS, that Novak told journalists on the sidelines of Russian Energy Week in Moscow that the process would require signing a contract, loading the fuel, chartering a vessel and shipping it to the buyer.

“To make the deliveries, it is necessary to conclude a contract, load the fuel, charter a vessel and send it to the consumer. All of this takes two to three weeks. Therefore, it is probably necessary to conclude an agreement more quickly now,” Novak said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump discussed oil and petroleum product supplies during a phone call on Oct. 9. Putin said Moscow had confirmed its readiness to supply oil and petroleum products to the US and global markets.
