Rama claims explosives-laden drone targeted his office

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said authorities had neutralized an explosive drone intended to target the Prime Minister’s Office in Tirana.

Axar.az reports, citing Albanian media, that Rama said the drone was disabled two days earlier and was intended to set fire to the building’s inner courtyard, potentially causing serious consequences. He accused foreign actors of interfering in Albania’s violent anti-government protests but did not identify those responsible or present evidence to support his claims.

"We have a lot of data, we will continue to enrich what we started from the beginning with the interference in social networks of those 'foreign hands'", said Rama.

Rama also accused Iran of spreading disinformation and referred to a social media post by Russian ideologue Aleksandr Dugin, whom he described as Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “ideological father.”

The allegations come amid five days of unrest in Albania, where protesters have demanded the government’s resignation over education costs and corruption. Clashes have left around 120 police officers and 45 protesters injured, according to the report. Police said 167 protesters had been arrested and another 388 prosecuted for violence.
