Warren Buffett’s children to oversee $150 billion fortune

The three children of billionaire investor Warren Buffett are preparing to take on a greater role in deciding how his estimated $150 billion fortune will be distributed to charitable causes.

Axar.az reports, citing Bloomberg, that Susie, Howard and Peter Buffett became much more involved in managing their father’s philanthropic wealth in July, following changes in his relationship with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Buffett had previously served on the foundation’s board but continued making donations after stepping down.

The siblings are pursuing different charitable priorities. Susie supports early education, after-school programmes and a science museum in Omaha, while Howard has funded a police-training campus in Illinois. Peter is converting a former furniture factory in New York’s Hudson Valley into a community space featuring a fabrication centre and a library.

Their differing approaches are expected to shape how one of the world’s largest fortunes is used for philanthropy.
