Russia and the United States are finalizing contracts for the supply of diesel fuel, with the first tanker carrying 40,000 tonnes of Russian diesel scheduled to depart for the US on Thursday, October 22.

Axar.az reports, citing local media, that Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak made the remarks to reporters.

“The first tanker is scheduled to leave the port tomorrow, October 22, for the United States,” he said, adding that the tanker would carry 40,000 tonnes.

“Further shipments will certainly follow. As agreed between the two leaders, we will meet the needs of the United States to the fullest extent of our capabilities,” Novak said.

According to Novak, the process of signing the contracts is in its final stages.
