Estonia receives HIMARS rockets with 70-km range

Estonia has received ammunition for its HIMARS multiple-launch rocket systems with a range of around 70 kilometres, Defence Minister Martin Herem has confirmed.

Axar.az reports, citing ERR, that deliveries of longer-range ATACMS missiles, capable of striking targets up to 300 kilometres away, remain suspended by the United States amid the war with Iran.

“Everything that was originally included in our contract is now in Estonia,” Herem said, adding that South Korean Chunmoo launchers are expected to arrive next year.

Estonia currently operates six HIMARS launchers and signed a contract with US defence company Lockheed Martin in April to purchase three more, expected to arrive in 2027.

The minister also said Estonia expects additional ammunition with ranges of around 100 kilometres for artillery systems, as well as long-range loitering attack drones.
