Turkiye-Azerbaijan ties too deep for daily politics - Video

Turkiye-Azerbaijan relations are too deep-rooted and longstanding to be used as a tool in day-to-day politics, Turkish MP Shamil Ayrim said.

Axar.az reports that Ayrim, chairman of the Turkiye-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group, made the remarks in a speech at the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye (TBMM).

“As President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has also emphasized, these ties go beyond relations between two states. We strongly condemn statements targeting Mr. Ilham Aliyev, his family, and dear Azerbaijan. Criticism is one thing; insult is quite another. The rostrum of our Gazi Assembly should be a place for words that strengthen brotherly relations. The position of the AK Party, our government and the People’s Alliance is firm. We do not accept attempts to go beyond the framework set out by our president. Turkiye is strong; dear Azerbaijan is strong. One nation, two states — we are stronger together,” the Turkish MP said.
