Moldova, Ukraine to sign military cooperation deal

Moldova and Ukraine will sign a new military cooperation agreement in the near future, potentially opening the way for drone production technology transfers and the development of defense systems, Moldovan Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatii said.

Axar.az reports, citing Moldovan media, that Nosatii noted the agreement would establish a legal framework for cooperation, while specific projects, including possible technology transfers and domestic drone production in Moldova, would be determined through further negotiations.

“In the very near future, we will sign a new cooperation agreement in the technical-material sphere, which will grant us access to information technologies and solutions that will help us better strengthen our defense capabilities,” Nosatii said.

Nosatii said Moldova could also benefit from Ukraine’s wartime experience in electronic warfare, air defense, drone technology and interceptor systems. He added that Ukrainian expertise could help train Moldovan military personnel in detecting and neutralizing drones.

Moldova, Ukraine and Romania already exchange real-time information on aerial threats and cooperate in responding to drone-related incidents.
