Libyan PM objects Trump’s remarks about Libya

Libyan Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibeh has objected to US President Donald Trump’s remarks about Libya, saying he will not allow the dignity of Libya and its people to become a subject of electoral disputes.

Axar.az reports that, in a post on X, Dbeibeh responded to Trump’s speech at an election rally in the US state of Georgia on October 24, where the US president criticised Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff over his immigration policies and described Libya, Yemen, Haiti and Somalia as countries “full of terrorists.”

"Libya is a sovereign state, and we reject any insult directed at it or its people, who have made great sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.

We value our relations with the United States on the basis of mutual respect and will not accept Libya’s dignity or that of its people becoming a subject of electoral disputes," Dbeibeh wrote.
