Pashinyan calls for genuine opposition in Armenia

A state-oriented, genuine opposition must emerge in Armenia, but the government should not be the one to create it.

Axar.az reports, citing Armenian media, that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made the remarks yesterday while commenting on the results of local self-government elections.

Pashinyan noted that he was not pleased that the ruling Civil Contract Party had received more than 80-90% of the vote in several regions.

“These percentages evoke certain associations,” he said.
