Iran sends millions of dollars to Hezbollah to rearm

Hezbollah has spent three months preparing for a possible resumption of hostilities with Israel after receiving tens of millions of dollars from Iran to strengthen its military capabilities.

Axar.az reports, citing Reuters reports, that the Lebanese armed group has used a lull in fighting since June to rearm, focusing on procuring explosives and producing drones intended to target Israeli positions, according to two Lebanese security sources.

According to the report, one of the sources and another person close to Hezbollah said the group had received tens of millions of dollars from Tehran for military purposes. This is in addition to around $200 million previously reported to have been provided by Iran to support displaced families in Hezbollah’s Shi’ite heartlands.

The group is on alert for a possible escalation between the United States and Iran that could reignite fighting on the Lebanon-Israel front.
