Ukraine, Moldova sign military-technical cooperation deal

Ukraine and Moldova have signed an agreement on military-technical cooperation, Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi said.

Axar.az reports, citing Suspilne, that Koretskyi said the agreement would pave the way for exchanging experience. He added that Ukraine had proposed expanding cooperation with Moldova within the demining coalition.

Koretskyi also highlighted existing cooperation formats, including an intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation and the Odesa Triangle, which brings together Ukraine, Moldova and Romania.

Moldovan Prime Minister Vasile Tofan said his country was interested in Ukraine’s air defence experience, noting that Moldova’s airspace had been violated more than 100 times since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

“Our airspace has been violated more than 100 times since the start of the war. Drones and projectile debris have fallen on our territory, five incidents occurring in a single Saturday,” Tofan said.

He added that Ukraine had accumulated extensive experience in countering drones, including through effective and affordable technological solutions, and that Moldova wanted to apply this experience to protect its airspace.
