EU proposes €45 billion in support for Ukraine in 2027

The European Commission has proposed allocating the remaining €45 billion under the EU's €90 billion Ukraine Support Loan to Ukraine in 2027.

Axar.az reports, citing the European Commission, that the proposed funding includes up to €13.3 billion in budgetary support and €31.7 billion to strengthen Ukraine's defence industrial capacity.

The budgetary assistance will be divided equally between the Ukraine Facility and Macro-Financial Assistance. It will be subject to conditions concerning the rule of law, anti-corruption efforts, economic resilience and sustainability.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the proposal would provide Ukraine with much-needed financial predictability and help maintain essential public services.

The proposal will now be submitted to the EU Council for approval. If adopted, the Commission plans to take the necessary steps to enable disbursements in early 2027.
