US warns of possible mass-casualty attack in Moscow

The US Embassy in Moscow has warned of a credible threat of a mass-casualty attack at the Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve in the Russian capital on October 31.

Axar.az reports, citing the US Embassy in Russia, that the US government is coordinating with Russian authorities in response to the threat and has urged people to avoid the museum complex and surrounding area.

Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) said it had received information from the United States through established partner channels about preparations for a terrorist attack in Moscow and was taking appropriate measures.

The Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve, a palace museum and park complex in southern Moscow, has been temporarily closed, with access to the park restricted.

The warning comes after the US Embassy issued a similar alert in March 2024, saying extremists had imminent plans to attack Moscow. Days later, gunmen attacked Crocus City Hall near the capital, killing more than 140 people.
