Trump: I will become ‘Mr. Veto’ if Democrats take Congress

US President Donald Trump has said he would use his veto power to block legislation if Democrats gain control of either chamber of Congress in Tuesday’s midterm elections, before eventually negotiating compromises.

Axar.az reports that, in an exclusive interview with Fox News, Trump described how he would handle a Democratic-controlled Congress.

“If that happens, I guess I'll become Mr. Veto. I'm not going to let them run. And then at some point, we'll probably make deals. That's what's happened. I mean, this wouldn't be the first time. You'll have a president, and you won't have the House or the Senate. They'll be sending stuff up. You veto it. And eventually, after a month or two of getting all vetoed, you know, it's just wasted; they come over, and you make a deal,” he said.

Trump added that he expected such a scenario could be avoided, saying: “I think that probably would happen, but hopefully we don't have to worry about that.”
