Araghchi: Iran ready for diplomacy and military action

Iran is prepared for both diplomatic negotiations and military action, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said, adding that Tehran would not retreat from its stated positions.

Axar.az reports that, speaking to state news agency IRNA at the end of his visit to Turkmenistan, Araghchi said Iran had presented its proposals and conditions for a diplomatic solution to the conflict with the United States.

He said the next step depended on Washington's willingness to pursue negotiations or resort to military action, warning that any renewed attack would receive a stronger response.

Araghchi also said the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the resumption of negotiations depended on the United States accepting Iran's conditions.

"Our conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz are entirely clear and transparent. If these conditions are accepted, the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened and negotiations will resume. If they are not accepted, the situation will remain as you see it now," Araghchi said.
