Pashinyan: Peace with Azerbaijan is already reality

Peace with Azerbaijan has become a reality, but it now needs to be enshrined in law.

Axar.az reports that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made the statement in an interview with Euronews on the sidelines of the EU Enlargement Summit in Brussels.

He said a lasting peace agreement was important both for regional stability and Armenia’s European prospects.

Pashinyan also highlighted US President Donald Trump’s support and initiative in the process.

“The good news is that we have established peace with Azerbaijan. This happened on August 8 last year in Washington, at the White House, with the support and initiative of US President Donald Trump,” the prime minister said.

According to him, this is not merely a declaration of intent, as the agreements have already led to tangible changes on the ground.
