German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen urged US president-elect Donald Trump to stick to the NATO principle of tough attitude toward Russia in a ZDF TV channel broadcast Friday.

‘Trump should clearly say whose side he is on: whether he is on the side of justice, peace settlement and democracy, or he just does not care," she said.

She added that Trump should not treat NATO as a business.

"This is not a company," the minister said.
