Alparslan Celik accused of killing Russian pilot denies guilt

Turkish national Alparslan Celik, accused of killing the pilot of Russia’s Su-24 plane Oleg Peshkov in Syria last year, says he is not guilty, the Turkish prosecutors continue the investigation, his lawyer Murat Ustundag said.

"The case has not been transferred to the court yet, it remains in the investigation stage. The prosecutor general will make a decision on whether to transfer Celik’s case to the court or close the case," Sputnik cited Ustundag as saying.

According to the lawyer, Celik says he is not guilty. "He did not kill the Russian pilot," Ustundag stressed.
