Trade and economic contacts with Russia resumed for the first time in 2013.
Since 2013, Finland has renewed its trade and economic contacts with Russia, writes the Financial Times.
It is reported that, led by the Russian Deputy Prime Minister and trade Minister of Finland, gathered Finnish-Russian trade Commission.
“We have 1,300 kilometers of shared border with Russia, so we have a lot of questions, which we from time to time have to cooperate. However, in our interests that the West remain United in relation to violations of international law. These two things do not contradict each other”, – said the Minister of trade of Finland Kai, Mikkanen.
However, the issue of sanctions at this meeting were not discussed.
The Minister also noted that Russia in spite of sanctions is the fifth largest destination of Finnish exports, and, according to the Minister, “it is important to support the work of Finnish companies in Russia”.
He urged not to overestimate the resume the joint trade Commission.
“It’s nothing special and I don’t want to overestimate,” said Mikkanen.
Recently it was reported that Norway will restore economic relations with Russia.
