Israeli troops conducted a number of raids throughout the occupied West Bank early Thursday morning and detained nine Palestinians, the Israel army said in a statement.

According to the statement, troops raided a handful of Palestinian refugee camps in the West Bank, including the Dheisheh, Aida, Askar, Al-Azza camps, among others.

The army has accused three of the Palestinians detained in last night’s raids of being members of Gaza-based resistance movement Hamas.

The Israeli army frequently carries out sweeping arrest campaigns in the occupied territories targeting Palestinians "wanted" by the occupation authorities.

Over 7,000 Palestinians are currently languishing in prisons throughout the Jewish state, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Prisoners’ Affairs.
