Azerbaijan is interested to continue military cooperation with Russia. Reports of there being unsolved financial issues associated with the contracts on buying Russian weapons are untrue, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said in an interview to the Russian publication “Kommersant”.

“There is no problem with the payments. Reports of there being unsolved financial issues associated with the contracts on buying Russian weapons are untrue. We’re doing all the payments in time and in compliance with the contracts. However, there are problems with the fulfillment of these contracts: in the sense that the weapons that are delivered to Azerbaijan must have the same settings as shown in the contracts. Dmitry Rogozin’s Baku visit took place for the discussion of these particular problems with the settings. All the questions regarding this issue have already been answered,” said the minister.

He added that Azerbaijan is successfully developing military-technical cooperation with Russia in keeping with commercial principles and on the basis of mutually beneficial cooperation.
