A total of 11 PKK terrorists have been killed in airstrikes conducted in northern Iraq, the Turkish military announced on Sunday.
Axar.az reports that, the statement released by the military said that the airstrikes carried out by Turkish jets on February 28 between 7:33 p.m. and 8:28 p.m. local time hit 16 identified terror targets, including shelters and caves, located in the Qandil and Avashin-Basyan regions of northern Iraq.
The release noted that according to initial findings, which follow reconnaissance missions performed by the military, 11 PKK terrorists were killed in the Qandil region which hosts the terror group's headquarters.
The airstrikes were organized following intelligence regarding the location of terrorists, the statement elaborated.
