Japanese airplane disappeared from radar

A Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force jet carrying four people disappeared from radar near Hakodate airport in Hokkaido on Monday morning, the Defense Ministry said.

Axar.az reports citing local media.

The reconnaissance aircraft LR-2 lost contact with a ground controller at around 11:50 a.m. while flying west of the airport, according to the ministry, which is looking into the case.

The jet belongs to an aviation unit for northern areas. It was scheduled to transport a patient from a Hakodate hospital.
