2 soldiers injured in PKK attack

Two soldiers were injured Wednesday during a counter-terrorism operation against the PKK terror group, according to Tunceli province governorate.

Axar.az reports citing Yeni Safak.

A handmade explosive planted by the PKK in the Cicekli neighborhood exploded during a clash with the terrorists in the southeastern province, the governorate said in a statement.

"Our two brave soldiers were slightly injured when two handmade explosives planted by the terrorists were detonated,” the statement said. “Soldiers were sent to the hospital for medical treatment and their medical condition is good.”

More than 1,200 people, including security personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK - listed as a terror group by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July 2015.
