Death toll rises to 60 in Venezuelan protests

There have been 59 days of protests against President Maduro's government in Venezuela.

Axar.az reports citing CNN.

The opposition tried to march toward the official office that investigates public complaints against the government. But the ombudsman office was quickly surrounded by police who scattered protesters using tear gas.

The death toll has increased to 60 after Saturday's protests.

The opposition insists remaining on the streets to demand general elections and to refuse the constituent national assembly.

The nation has been hit by an economic crisis that includes soaring inflation and a shortage of basic goods.
