A Sudanese military helicopter has crashed in northern Sudan, killing all four people aboard, according to an army statement issued on Wednesday.

Axar.az reports citing AA.

“An army helicopter crashed immediately after taking off from Sudan’s northern Dongola military airport on Tuesday night,” the statement read.

“All members of the helicopter’s four-man crew were killed instantly,” it added.

The army attributed the deadly crash to inclement weather across the country, especially in Sudan’s Northern State of which Dongola is the regional capital.“The incident was caused by bad weather in Northern State and in other parts of the country,” according to the army statement.

Over the past 48 hours, northern Sudan has been struck by unusually bad weather, including heavy rainfall, strong winds and sandstorms.
