Turkey detains 15 IS militants

Fifteen militants of the “Islamic State” (IS, aka ISIS, ISIL or Daesh) terrorist group were detained in Turkey’s Izmir province as a result of a special operation, Dogan news agency reported Apr. 1.

Reportedly, all the detainees are Turkish citizens. The police have revealed that they actively participated in military operations in Iraq and Syria.

One of the detainees was also involved in a terrorist attack in Turkey’s Adana province in 2015.

Firearms were seized from the detainees during the special operation.
