Saakashvili headed to airport, where his son was detained

Movement of New Forces leader, former head of the Odesa regional administration and former Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili said that his 11-year-old son and a person accompanying him were detained in Kyiv’s Boryspil airport.

Axar.az reports citing Kyiv Post.

“My 11-year-old son and an employee of the Georgian State Security Service accompanying him were detained in Boryspil airport two hours ago. The service’s employee accompanying my son, who was flying to see me, is on an official trip,” Saakashvili said on his Facebook page on Nov.10.

The documents of his son and the person accompanying him are in order, but “they have been held in a separate room without explanation for two hours,” he said.

“I’m heading to the airport to find out what’s going on,” Saakashvili said.
