7 killed in Iraqi chopper crash

Iraq's Joint Operations Command announced on Sunday that in a helicopter crash in Wasit, east Iraq, the whole crew composed of seven military personnel were killed.

Axar.az reports citing IRNA.

“An Mi-17 helicopter crashed during training in Wasit,” it said in a statement.

The helicopter crashed in Kut, 160 km southeast of Baghdad.

The statement did not refer to the cause of the crash, but former Governor of Wasit Malek al-Wadi Khalaf told IRNA that a technical problem caused the incident.
