Turkish jets destroyed terrorist PKK camps, weapons positions, arms dumps and shelters in northern Iraq on Sunday, the military said.

Axar.az reports citing AA that, airstrikes hit a number of targets in northern Iraq's Zap, Mt. Qandil, Sinat-Haftanin, Gara and Hakurk regions, the Turkish General Staff said on Monday.

More than 1,200 people, including security force personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July 2015.
