2 soldiers injured in PKK attack in southeast Turkey

Two soldiers were slightly wounded when PKK terrorists attacked an armored military vehicle in southeastern Sirnak province Thursday, according to a hospital source.

Axar.az informs citing AA that the PKK terrorists used a rocket launcher and firearms in the attack in Silopi district, the source, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on talking to the media, said.

The injured soldiers were rushed to the Sirnak State Hospital.

The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization also by the U.S., and the EU. In its over three-decade terror campaign against Turkey, more than 40,000 people have been killed.

Since the group resumed its armed campaign in July 2015, more than 1,200 people, including security force personnel and civilians, have lost their lives.
