US east coast blizzard kills at least 6 people

At least six people have died as a result of a huge winter storm, which hit the US East Coast bringing heavy snow and strong winds, local media reported citing authorities.

Axar.az informs that three people died in North Carolina, one in South Carolina and two in Virginia, the channel reported on Thursday local time.

The snowfall totals reportedly reached around 15 inches and according to the airline tracking firm FlightAware, over 5,000 flights within, into, or out of the United States have been canceled since Wednesday.

Florida's Tallahassee has seen snow for the first time in thirty years.
