The mediators are making efforts for the resumption of negotiations between the parties to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova told a press conference on Wednesday.

She said that the mediation will not give the maximum effect without the desire and will of the conflict parties.

“What is happening in Nagorno-Karabakh once again confirms the thesis that we voiced at previous briefings,” Zakharova said, calling on the parties to resume talks to reach a peaceful settlement.

Moscow considers the risk of war in the region should be reduced on the basis of the agreements reached, the spokesperson noted.

“At the moment, the main task is to stabilize the situation, prevent violence and bloodshed and create a climate for the resumption of talks,” she added.
