"The European Union supports the peaceful resolution of all conflicts, because of a victim in a conflict is a great tragedy."

According to the local media, the Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan Malena Mard said these words. With reference to the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, she said the current status quo in Nagorno-Karabakh is not auspicious for parties and has no permanent character.

"We are in favor of a peaceful resolution of the conflict. We support the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group. One of the priorities of the European Union is that it should support the work of the OSCE Minsk Group on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict," she noted.

M. Mard added that the EU is playing its role in resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, "the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Herbert Salber visited Azerbaijan. He will visit Armenia. The European Union will take all means in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The European Parliament discussed the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict with participation of Ms. Mogherini. It shows once again that the European Union supports the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group on peaceful settlement of the conflict".

Representative of EU stressed that to maintain the cease-fire is very important: "We will try to call for both sides to negotiate".
