Merkel tops Forbes' list of 100 most powerful women of 2018

The Forbes ranking of the 100 most powerful women in the world for 2018 has been announced, with German chancellor Angela Merkel topping the list for an eighth year running.

Axar.az reports citing Forbes.

The business magazine's list, which has been created for the 15th consecutive year, includes women who are deemed as being the most influential leaders across the globe today.

The publication notes that while Merkel's future remains uncertain, considering the fact that she's not running for re-election in 2021, the impact that she's had as leader of the Christian Democratic Union since 2000 and as chancellor of Germany since 2005 has been indisputable.
