Pentagon announces a meeting of US and Turkish military

"Senior military officials of US and Turkey are scheduled to meet this week," Pentagon spokesperson Heather Babb said.

Axar.az reports citing the RIA Novosti.

The meeting will focus on the situation in the North-East of Syria, as well as security issues.

"I can confirm that there will be meetings in Turkey this week. The United States and Turkey are actively coordinating all issues related to both Turkish security and the situation in North-Eastern Syria. I will not go into details of these discussions," she said.

It was earlier reported that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan invited his American counterpart Donald Trump to pay a visit to Turkey in 2019.
